The Gateway
Recorded lessons, on purpose
E-Learning Mastery Gateway is a shop. It sells recorded courses in making and releasing music, streamed to your browser, and it tries to be exact about what that means.
There is no live class, no tutor and no certificate. What there is: lessons you can watch at your own pace, for months, whenever your week allows.
What we sell
11 courses and 2 longer programmes, 803 lessons and 220 h 41 min of video in all.
The catalogue is divided by the situation you are in rather than by software, because that is how the problem shows up: a laptop and no finished track, a mix that falls apart on other speakers, a gig coming up, a finished song with nowhere to go.
- Making the first soundsYou have a laptop and ideas but nothing finished. You want a track that starts, develops and ends.
- Making it sound rightThe ideas are there, the recording is not. It sounds smaller and muddier in your headphones than on the radio.
- Playing it for a roomYou will be on a stage or behind the decks soon, and the room will tell you straight away if it works.
- Getting it heardThe music is finished. Now it needs a release, a rights set-up, or a place on a screen.
Programmes put several of those stages in one ordered run, for people who would rather follow a single route than choose between courses.
Why recorded only
Recorded, so it is there when you are.
What recording gives and what it costs you
What you gain
You watch when you can, not when a class runs. You stop, rewind and watch the hard part again without holding anyone up. You pay for the lessons, not for someone’s time, and access lasts 24 months.
What you give up
Nobody hears your track and tells you what is wrong with it. Nobody marks your work or answers a question about your own project. If you want that, a recorded course is the wrong thing to buy, and we would rather you knew now.
Four principles
-
Start from the problem
Every course begins with a sentence a learner would actually say, like “I opened the software three times and closed it three times.” and works from there. The software comes second.
-
Say what is missing
No tutor, no marking, no downloads, no certificate. We say it on the course pages, in the terms and on this page, before you have paid anything.
-
Finish something
Courses are built around things that end: a loop, a song, a mix, a release plan. A lesson that does not leave you with something to do has not done its job.
-
Keep the promise plain
The price you see is the price you pay. The length of your access is stated in months. We do not use countdown clocks, invented scarcity or reviews we did not receive.
Who runs it
The shop is run by a limited company registered in England and Wales. Its details are in section 1 of the Terms of Sale.
